Prescription of the Night Shift positioner<\/b> is recommended for treatment of adults suffering positional obstructive sleep apnoea<\/b>, providing their supine apnoea-hypopnoea index is less than 20. It is also designed to reduce or mitigate snoring. Night Shift monitors position, movement and sound, making it possible to analyse how changes in posture during sleep influence quality of rest and the intensity of snoring.<\/p>\n
It can be worn comfortably on the neck or chest, as the patient prefers. It gradually increases the intensity of vibrations until you change position, generally without waking you. It can be set to start vibrating 15 or 30 minutes after sleep begins, to allow the person to fall asleep in any position before the vibrations begin. The device will only vibrate when sleeping face up, helping the body to change position without waking up.<\/p>\n
It is an ideal device for patients with apnoea primarily in a supine position and do not adapt well to other therapies, such as CPAP.<\/p>\n
The Night Shift positioner<\/b> has a mobile app available for iOS and Android, as well as a web portal, allowing it to be configured and to monitor how the patient is sleeping. It can also generate reports to help the doctor to assess whether the positional apnoea is being corrected. This device requires a medical prescription<\/b>.<\/p>\n
It is easy to use and has a long-life battery. When it is fully charged, it can work for up to three nights in a row. When the vibration system of the device is switched on, it will tell you how many nights of battery power are left. It will also tell you if the battery does not have sufficient charge to last the 8 hours of a full night.<\/p>\n
