Description

The Löwenstein Medical standard nasal cannula for polygraph is a medical device designed to monitor nasal airflow during a patient’s sleep. Its main function is to detect changes in air pressure and allows for the identification of respiratory events such as apneas or hypopneas.

The nasal cannula is made of medical-grade PVC and is free of latex, lead, and mercury to prevent possible allergic reactions. It features a simple, lightweight, soft, and flexible design, consisting of two ergonomic, rounded-tip stems that are gently inserted into the patient’s nostrils. These then slide behind the ears and finally join into a single tube under the jaw.

At its distal end, it has a Luer Lock connector that allows the cannula to be attached to various sleep diagnostic equipment. This connector has a safety thread to ensure a secure and airtight connection with the diagnostic equipment’s pressure module. It also prevents accidental disconnections and air leaks and provides highly accurate monitoring of the patient’s respiratory flow. The nasal polygraphy cannula is compatible with diagnostic equipment that uses a Luer Lock connector for its attachment to the pressure module.

The nasal cannula is a single-use device; it cannot be reused or sterilized and must be disposed of according to waste regulations after use.
