Description

The EMST75 expiratory muscle strength trainer from Keylab Medical is a PEP (positive expiratory pressure) device that is used to strengthen the respiratory muscles in patients with conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Parkinson’s, or people with cystic fibrosis, COPD, atelectasis, asthma or other pulmonary conditions involving secretion retention.

It consists of a plexiglass tube with a pressure spring and a one-way valve to block the flow of air. The patient must exhale forcefully through the mouthpiece to generate enough pressure to open the valve and allow airflow. During exhalation, while the valve remains closed, pressure builds up helping to clear the airways and drain secretions.

It is ideal for home use, thanks to its small size and ease of use. Patients can travel comfortably with the EMST75 expiratory muscle strength trainer. It is easy to clean and includes a nose clip.
